I haven't been on here for quite a while, mostly due to my previous laptop quitting on me and lack of Internet accessibility. I finally got a new laptop and have been able to check a mobile Wi-Fi hotspot out from the library (they're a new thing they got through a grant). Today I'm getting a new version of Microsoft Office Professional Plus 2019 delivered, so I'll be able to get back to writing again. Whenever we get the 3rd COVID-19 stimulus payment (maybe by the end of the week, last I heard), I'm going to order Paintshop Pro 2021 Ultimate (because my old c. 2000 version of Photoshop 6.0 won't work on this latest version of Windows-10 Pro and I refuse to get any software that's "by subscription", so no more Photoshop), and maybe get a digitizer.
As for the pandemic situation, I've been safe so far, living out in the country and only going into town every three weeks or so to resupply.
I have a stack of sketches that I've started coloring using Pixlr.com (until I can get new software) and have some that I'll be uploading soon. I've been working on a calendar project that will go along with my Daggers of Darkness™ sci-fi novel series. This is to be the "unofficial" Squadron VP-307 calendar, with twelve of the female members within the squadron posing for portraits (it'll all be "clean", so no nudity -- a little risqué, perhaps, but nothing vulgar or X-Rated). I have some sketches ready for coloring, two are finished, and a few that I only have the initial preliminary sketch done. This calendar will be printed as a regular calendar that can be hung up on the wall, with dates on the correct days for the year 2514. Not intended to be marked up like a normal calendar since this is an art project...and none of us will be around 493 years from now, anyway. As far as when this calendar is related to the storyline, it will have been made during the 6-month period between book #1 ("Into the Black") and book #2 ("The Heart of Élendor").
If you happen to be looking for reading material, I have nine books published in both paperback and Kindle e-book, available on Amazon, so please check them out. :)
Daggers of Darkness™
#1 - Into the Black
#2 - The Heart of Élendor
The Art of Tangled Vines (art book)
The Changed One (short story)
The Little Mouse and the Old Wolf (short story)
If you do buy one or more of my books (paperback or Kindle version), please leave a review on Amazon -- it really helps authors two ways, by knowing what people like (or didn't like) about a book and by attracting potential readers (people are more likely to take a look if they see reviews). A review doesn't have to be a long detailed critique, a few lines about what you think of the story will do.
Okay, well, that's it for now. I'll be checking in a bit more often now that I have a functioning computer again and Internet access (most of the time). I hope everyone has been staying safe and well! 2020 was a screwball year, and 2021 is off to a rough start, though we can pull through.
