Here's my portrait of Lilith Night Spirit's android avatar, leaning against a stair railing. Hmm, wonder what she might be thinking... ;)
Humorous side note: when I was originally creating the ship A.I. systems and their avatars for my novel, "Daggers of Darkness - Into the Black", this was the song that I had going through my head at the time:
I used my 0.5 mm mechanical pencil with HB lead, a 6B and 2B graphite stick, and various drawing aids where applicable. Different for this drawing is the paper used. I found some sheets left on an old pad of Mead standard weight paper (their Académie brand sketch pad) that I had, so I used it for two reasons: (1) I didn't have any 8.5"x14" white paper, and (2) it was the largest drawing paper I have at 9"x12". This paper was a challenge because it's fibrous and doesn't have a hard, smooth finish--a bit of a pain when using a 0.5 mm lead. After I finished the piece, I gave it two coats of a matte finish spray acrylic sealer to keep it from smudging. I don't have any sheet protectors for 9"x12" paper, and I doubt the local stores have any for that size.
