When I'm asked what would be my drag queen outfit, or my carnival costume, I respond: just a fan and nothing else.
Brazilian carnival is one of the biggest parties in the world. But it also has some environmental issues. First, the feather on the costumes, that come from abused birds who often live in captivity; also the glitter and confetti, that leaves the streets and even the ocean filthy with tiny, dangerous plastics. Many samba schools have promoted the use of aritificial feathers on their costumes, and recently people are sharing ideas for ecological confetti and glitter.
My message for y'all is: reduce, reuse, recycle; consume less and deal with your trash responsibly, or raccoons will take over the trash-covered world.
