Here's my half of a trade with HydroFTT, featuring his fennec character Simona striking an extremely girly pose. I've been building on my technique... in addition to splitting the shadows and light into separate layers, I've used the Gaussian blur command on both for a more even, airbrushed look.
What is with the sudden wave of fennec foxes in furry fandom, anyway? A friend offered to draw fennec characters for a recent sketch and was beseiged with over a dozen requests! There should be more love for that other big-eared carnivore, the serval. They're the Golgo 13 of the cat world, killing half their targets. Okay, maybe they're not quite as talented as Duke Togo, but when you consider that other cats have a kill rate of ten percent, it's still pretty impressive.
